The Queen visited Derbyshire on many occasions during her 70 years reign.

In the summer of 2014, Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh visited the Derbyshire Dales and Chatsworth, arriving at Matlock Station.

Becky Mellor, who was watching and reporting on the event, told us:

"She received a really fantastic reception and it felt quite surreal to see her up close in real life since you were so used to seeing her on television or in magazines and in newspapers.

"It was incredibly special and I do fondly remember that time.

"I do recall a real buzz in the air. It was an exciting morning and everyone was looking forward to seeing her.

"When the royal train pulled into the station there was a feel of jubilation and excitement."

Paul Brookes met the Queen in 1997 as she visited Derby's Children's Hospital and says:

"She had a stunning yellow outfit on, and a hat.

"There was a definite radiance about her. She captivated the attention of everyone as she walked through the corridor.

"It was a massive moment in my life. You remember the words so clearly because you know this is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
