Pensioner prepares for Chesterfield to Sheffield Christmas challenge

An 83-year-old charity fundraiser is getting ready to walk 17 miles from North Derbyshire into South Yorkshire tomorrow (25th December)

John 'the Pram Man' Burkhill is taking on the Christmas Day challenge to raise funds for cancer research.

It's 30 years after his wife passed away from the illness.

He's due to set off from Chesterfield Royal Hospital at 8am & head to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

John's raised almost 900 thousand pounds for Macmillan cancer research over the years & is hopeful of reaching the 1 million pound milestone soon:
