Man dies in Derby flat fire
Crews tackled the blaze at Lower Eley Street
A man has tragically died following a serious flat fire on Lower Eley Street, Derby.
Firefighters from Kingsway, Nottingham Road and Ascot Drive were called to attend the fire at 6.45pm on Monday, 6 March.
On entering the ground floor property, sadly the body of one man was discovered.
A fire investigation has concluded the most likely cause to be accidental pending further investigations.
Firefighters, Community Safety Officers and partners from Metropolitan Housing will be in the area of Lower Eley Street tomorrow (Wednesday, 8 March) speaking to local residents about fire safety and providing reassurance.
