Man dies in a Chesterfield house fire
Crews attended the blaze at Sanforth Road in Newbold on Wednesday 10th November just after 5am
On arrival they found the fire on the ground floor of the property well established.
One female occupant was handed into the care of paramedics and taken to hospital for precautionary checks, but tragically one 76-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A joint police and fire investigation has concluded that the most probably cause of the fire was accidental electrical.
Firefighters and Community Safety Officers have been in the area providing fire safety advice and reassurance to the local community.
