Man charged after the theft of peregrine falcon eggs

He will appear in court next month.

A man from Matlock has been charged in connection with the theft of peregrine eggs.

This was from a quarry in Bolsover on Sunday 23 April 2023 at 4.20pm.

Christopher Wheeldon, of Lime Grove, Darley Dale, Matlock, has been charged with Disturbing the nesting site of a wild bird and taking eggs of a wild bird.

The 34-year-old has been released on bail.

He is due to appear at Chesterfield Justice Centre on Monday October 16th.
