A lady from Derbyshire who set up a clothing bank over the pandemic is about to stage her first event.

Sally Depee, who's also been handed a Derbyshire Beacon of Hope Award for 'Little Cherubs', is holding a 'swop shop' at Chapel Methodist Church a week on Saturday.

She says she started the scheme in lockdown after she noticed children who outgrow clothes may not have enough access to new items.

They have helped nearly a thousand children in the High Peak so far, handing out reused clothes to families who couldn't afford an online shop.

Sally Depee reveals why it's been making a difference to people:

“If we’ve helped half a dozen people, we’ve helped somebody.

“As long as there’s a demand in what we do, we’ll continue to do what we are.

“Like most of us, we’ve had difficult times and I would hate to think that such a simple act of kindness will go unnoticed."
