Seven people have been arrested as part of a homicide investigation after the death of a teenager in Derbyshire.
Four 17-year-old boys have all been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Whilst a 17-year-old boy, 52-year-old man, 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl have all been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Emergency services were called to Heanor Road in Ilkeston at 8.20pm last night, to reports that a man had been stabbed.
On arrival a 18-year-old was found in the road with a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Derbyshire Constabulary say the teenager’s family has been made aware and its team of specially trained officers are supporting them.
They have also confirmed a homicide investigation is being led by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.
Detective Chief Inspector Claudia Musson from the East Midlands Special Operation Unit, who is leading the investigation said: “We are in the very early stages of the investigation and we are treating it as an isolated incident.
“We are keen for anyone with information to contact us as a matter of urgency to assist with the inquiry into the death of this young man," she said.
