Illuminations underway at Matlock Bath
The 2023 event will be held each weekend through to next month
The opening night event for Matlock Bath Illuminations has taken place in the Derbyshire Dales, with crowds turning out to catch the annual spectacle.
It's 126 years since the Illuminations were first staged to celebrate Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee.
Eleven decorated boats - including the traditional candle boat, took to the River Derwent as part of the show which will run every Saturday and Sunday until 29 October.
The boats are created with thousands of LED lights by members of the Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders’ Association.
Fireworks finales will take place every Saturday in October and also on the final night, Sunday 29 October.
