Former Spirites manager James Rowe has been charged with sexual assault.

Derbyshire Police say the 39-year-old from Breaston in Derby will appear before magistrates at Chesterfield Justice Centre on November 7th.

It follows reports of an offence alleged to have taken place in November 2021.

Rowe, now with AFC Fylde, previously left the club by mutual consent in February. He’d earlier been suspended pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
