Firefighters have dealt with a blaze at East Midlands Designer Outlet

Crews from Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Alfreton were called just after 5.30pm

It broke out at the rear of a retail unit on the site, just off the M1 at Junction 28, where it spread to a roof space.

The fire was quickly dealt with and the centre evacuated. No one was injured.

An investigation determined the most likely cause was accidental electrical.

It's expected the outlet will reopen as usual tomorrow, although the damaged shop and two adjoining units affected by smoke are likely to remain closed for a couple of days.
