The East Midlands Designer Outlet is expected to reopen as normal today following a fire there last night that saw the centre evacuated.
The blaze started with an electrical fault and spread to the roof space with firefighters from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire called to put it out.
An investigation's found it started accidentally and shops are expected to reopen today, November 24.
Reports suggest the fire broke out in a small retail unit containing three shops, away from the main shopping centre.
Speaking from the scene, Station Manager Ian Snodgrass said:
“The on-site management team were quick to act and safely evacuated everyone to a place of safety.
“However, thanks to the swift actions of the fire crews attending who prevented the fire from spreading to the rest of the outlet, it is expected East Midlands Designer Outlet will reopen for business as usual on November 24.”
