Derbyshire man charged with firearm offences

The 30-year-old will be appearing before Nottingham Magistrates Court today

A 30-year-old man from Derbyshire has been charged with firearms offences in the early hours of this morning (approximately 00:30 on Saturday, June 25th), following an investigation by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North East which was supported by police in the East Midlands.

The man has been charged with;

  • One offence of Possess a Prohibited Firearm
  • One offence of possess Ammunition Without a Firearm Certificate
  • Six offences of Breach of Serious Crime Prevention Order
  • One offence of Driving Whilst Disqualified

He will appear before Nottingham Magistrates Court via live link today (25th June) and was arrested last weekend, as part of a pre-planned, intelligence led, operation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East.
