A Derbyshire campaigner's calling on the Government to take stalking victims 'more seriously'.

Chesterfield resident Jackie Barnett-Wheatcroft launched a parliamentary petition earlier this month to try and get more resources in place for those who're being harassed.

She set it up in honour of the late Gracie Spinks-who was killed in Duckmanton back in June.

Jackie has over 40,000 signatures already, but tells us that's not enough:

"There's no ideal number for this. I need 100,000 signatures or more for this to be debated in Parliament.

"Stalking is a serious matter-it is a criminal offence. It's about time our law represented this.

"I want more stalking advocates to be brought in across the country who have the power to apply for a stalking protection order on behalf of the victims."

The Government revealed their latest plans to tackle violence against women and girls in July.
