Derby students to trial out new app to improve green transport
The app is to encourage students to become more environmentally friendly to improve travel habits.
A new mobility service app is being rolled out to Derby students over an 18-month period, to help reduce environmental impact of transport and support the mobility of those with disabilities.
The app, DerbyGo is set to make planning journeys like bus routes easier and to help students impact the environment less.
Derby City Council have partnered with Toyota's brand- Kinto to target around 100,000 students and university staff to trial as they return back to the city.
The Council say it's the biggest trial of green mobility in Europe.
Chris Poulter, leader of Derby City Council, said:
“DerbyGo will change the way people travel around the city, encouraging and allowing more flexible and efficient journeys, which will contribute to creating a greener environment."
