People in Derby are being urged to drop off any clean or un-used school uniforms to help parents throughout the cost-of-living crisis.

Derby County Community Trust are working with Derby Food 4 Thought - they've got drop off points across the city.

Families can request uniform packs which will include a jumper, two polo shirts or shirts and a pair of trousers or skirt.

Additional items, such as PE kits, may also be provided subject to availability. All items will be new or nearly new and in excellent condition.

Morgan Stanley is from Derby County Community Trust and said: "You don't want kids to turn up on their first day of school with last years uniform, uniform that doesn't fit. It's just trying to help those young people in need.

"Young people struggle to understand a lot more, because they're not at the age, where they'll know what their parents are going through financially.

"They might be asking mum, or dad, or whoever they live with, for bits of uniforms, maybe a video game, a football, and their parents are struggling so it's nice for us to be able to give those parents a bit of a helping hand."

The last drop-off at Harrison's Hub at Pride Park Stadium is Monday 14th August. Collections will take place on the 25th of August at the Derbion Community Centre.
