Derby County still searching for a buyer
Andy Appleby has put a bid in to take over the club
Football fans are reacting to Andy Appleby putting a bid in to buy Derby County FC which would also involve Sam Rush and Jez Moxey, as well as a 'big financial backer behind the scenes' according to supporter's group Black and White together.
The club has been on the hunt for a buyer since it went into administration back in September.
Fans are keen to stay positive for them after a hard month as they search for a buyer despite there has been a slightly smaller turnout for the games since the outbreak of Covid-19 as a result of people picking up new activities at the weekend since lockdown as well as some people not being ready to mix in large crowds yet.
Supporter's reaction
A spokesperson for Black and White together Nigel Owen told Greatest Hits about his thoughts on the current situation for the club:
"Derby County going into administration took most fans by surprise. Everybody knew that the club was not in a great way and that was an accumulation of several years overspending, and obviously Covid didn't help that at all."
"In the first game after lockdown there was just genuine passion at Pride Park that hadn't been seen for a long time."
"Andy Appleby is somebody who has been involved in the ownership of the running of the club before so people will recognise him and the name which I think will reassure people given some of the names that have been connected with the club in buying the club in recent times which we could say came out of the blue and disappeared very quickly back into that blue."
