Derby man jailed for murdering his wife

A Derby man who admitted killing his wife has been jailed for life, with a minimum of 18 years.

Conrard Iyayi changed his plea to guilty on the second day of his trial earlier this month.

He had initially denied killing Katy Harris in their Littleover home in February last year

Police were called to the property, after he'd dialled 999 and told the call handler that he'd murdered her.

After his arrest the 46-year-old then told officers that he could not remember what had happened after he had taken drugs he purchased on the dark web.

Ms Harris suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack

She was a mum to three children.
