A North Derbyshire athlete tells us 'he doesn't fear anyone' ahead of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Tokyo today.

Chesterfield's very own Liam Pitchford is competing in the men's table tennis singles tournament for Team GB.

The 27-year-old believes anything can happen:

"I'm going into the tournament on the back of not playing many patches due to the pandemic, so it's difficult to say where I'm at, but I'm feeling good.

"We'll see, I know on my day that I can beat any player in the world.

"It's all about delivering on the day though, but I'm in a good position to that, so hopefully I can.

"I just want to do Great Britain and North Derbyshire proud."
