Appeal underway as Chesterfield scrapyard fire started deliberately
It follows a joint police and fire service investigation
Officers investigating a fire at a Chesterfield industrial estate are appealing for witnesses and information.
Firefighters were called to the Armytage Industrial Estate in Station Road, Old Whittington, at 6.10am on Monday 13 February. The fire involved around 100 cars at a scrap yard and was tackled by crews from nine stations at its height.
A joint investigation between Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Derbyshire Constabulary has now concluded that the fire was started deliberately.
Derbyshire Police say they are keen to hear from anyone who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, in particular between the hours of 9pm on 12 February and 6am on 13 February.
