Two arrested after man found seriously injured in Shirebrook

Police believe the victim was assaulted at a pub - before being admitted to hospital

Two people have been arrested after a man was admitted to hospital with serious injuries in Shirebrook over the weekend.

Police believe the victim was attacked in the area of The Gate Inn pub on King Edward Street on Saturday evening (June 28).

Video footage of the alleged incident has allegedly circulated on social media, which Derbyshire Police are urging people to send them.

Officers are also looking for CCTV and dashcam taken on the same evening on Main Street.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and has been released on bail.

A second man, aged 20, remains in custody on suspicion of wounding with intent.
