£58 million could be about to be spent on Derbyshire’s roads and pavements

A meeting is to be held today (Thursday 13) to approve the programme which could take place between April 2022 and March 2023.

It would make up the second part of a three year upgrade scheme being debated by the County Council today, to be carried out in the next 12 months.

Kewal Singh Athwal is cabinet member for highways and transport and said:

“More than 44% of the money next year will be spent on resurfacing or surface dressing 375 roads across the county.

“We’re also going to make improvements to pavements, drains and spend money on measures to prevent flooding.”
