There’s a call for volunteers to help plant over 2000 trees in parks and open spaces in East Staffordshire Borough.

It’s as part of a winter project through the Friends of Renewing East Staffordshire, as the borough council looks to reduce its carbon footprint.

The Horticultural team at the Council will be planting a mixture of standard and whip trees throughout the winter months.

Councillor Bev Ashcroft, Deputy Leader for Leisure, Amenities and Tourism, said:

“Planting trees is an integral part of improving our parks and open spaces which are such vital places for local communities and have proven to be of great importance to many people throughout the pandemic.”
