Young Carlisle United fans have hit out at a small 'minority' of people who they say ruined yesterday's match for the rest of them.

The Warwick Road End supporters have been working to boost the atmosphere at Carlisle's matches, launching a crowd-funding campaign and urging fans to create a 'sea of blue and white'.

Yesterday's clash with Tranmere saw a massive league attendance for the Blues, with over 12-thousand home fans heading through the gates.

The Blues won the match 2-nil, taking them back into the automatic promotion places.

But those behind the Warwick Road End initiative have now taken to twitter to slam a small number of 'small-minded idiots' who they say snapped, threw and removed flags, which were paid for by fans

They were apparently launched onto the pitch and had to be removed by stewards and the club's goalkeeper:

Because of this, the group says the flags won't be in place for the match with Northampton.
