Two men charged after £130,000 worth of cannabis found on M6
Vehicle search uncovered 13kg of cannabis with police making two arrests
Detectives in Westmorland and Furness have charged two men with drug supply offences after officers stopped a vehicle on the M6 and discovered £130,000 worth of cannabis.
Officers from Cumbria's Roads Policing Unit pulled over the vehicle for the manner of its driving on 19th January. Upon searching the car, they found 13kg of cannabis.
The CSOC team charged Abdul Ahmed, a 45-year-old man and a 49-year-old man with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
Both men were remanded into custody and appeared at Barrow Magistrates Court on 21st January.
This operation is part of Cumbria Constabulary's effort, named Operation Alliance, to combat serious and organised crime in the county.
