Two drug drivers failed a roadside drug test
Cumbria Police have confirmed they have arrested two people, after they failed a roadside drug test, testing positive for cocaine.
The first was at 9.40pm (31 March) on the M6 northbound, north of junction 43 (Carlisle), a 48-year-old woman from Birmingham driving a Dacia Sandero.
She was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and released under investigation to allow for time for blood test results.
Then, in the early hours of this morning (1 April), the force arrested a 40-year-old man from Cockermouth, who also failed a roadside drug test after testing positive for cocaine.
He was driving a Fiat Panda when he was arrested at around 4.20am.
The man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and released under investigation to allow for time for blood test results.
It is as the force continue to run Operation Spotlight, which is a month-long operation targeting the 'fatal four'.
