Two arrested after assault in Barrow
A woman, aged 54, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm
A 57-year-old man is fighting for his life after a serious assault at a home in Barrow.
Emergency services were called just before midnight on Saturday (12 July) following reports of two people being injured at a property on Teasdale Road.
One man, aged 19, suffered a suspected broken arm and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was taken to Furness General Hospital for treatment.
The older man was taken to hospital in Preston, where he remains in a critical condition.
A woman, aged 54, was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police say investigations are ongoing and people in the area may notice an increased police presence.
