Teenagers arrested in Carlisle
Police in the city made a number of arrests at the weekend
Police in Carlisle have been cracking down on anti-social behaviour in Carlisle over the weekend and have arrested two 14-year-old boys.
The first, on Saturday (19th March), officers arrested a teenager on suspicion of assault that had happened a short while earlier on Bank Street.
He was further arrested for his suspected involvement in a racist assault at Bitts Park the previous weekend, where a father and his child, and a woman in her 30s were physically and verbally assaulted by a group of young people.
He was also arrested in connection with a public order incident on Lowther Street the same day.
He has since been released on police bail.
The following day (Sunday 20th March), officers detained three young people who were suspected to being in possession of stolen knives in the city centre.
Subsequently another 14-year-old male from the city was arrested after being found in possession of 4 blades among other items which police suspect were also stolen.
He has been released under investigation.
