Five arrested after Silloth assault leaves multiple people injured

Five men have been arrested after reports of an assault at Solway Holiday Village, Silloth in the early hours of this morning (30th October).

They've been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after multiple people were injured.

Cumbria police say locals should expect an increased police presence in the area.

A Cumbria police spokesperson said, "Police were called at 3:23am this morning (30 Oct) with a report of an ongoing assault involving multiple people at the location.

"Officers attended and five men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

"A number of people were injured and are being treated by medical professionals. Injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"Armed officers were deployed as part of the response due to the initial report. There is no ongoing threat to public safety.

"Enquiries are ongoing at the scene and residents in the surrounding area may see a larger than normal police presence while this continues throughout the day."
