Police in Cumbria have launched an investigation after two people in their 80s were found deceased at a property in Skinburness.

They're describing their deaths as 'unexplained'.

Officers say they were called at 3pm on Thursday (23rd October) after a member of the public found them at the address in Grune Point Close.

Detective Chief Inspector Paddy McDonnell said: “Cumbria Police commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths since Thursday afternoon carrying out significant enquiries since that time.

"We are working closely with the coroner for Cumbria seeking to understand what has occurred.

“Whilst the investigation so far does not support third-party or criminal involvement, officers are keeping an open mind and are continuing to work to establish the circumstances leading to their deaths.”
