Police in Penrith have been granted a full closure order for a property in Eden Mount, Penrith following multiple calls for service.

Police were granted the order at Carlisle Magistrates Court.

This comes after officers attended court with evidence relating to longstanding and extensive anti-social behaviour, disorder and drugs use.

The property has been secured, and the order will run for three months. During this time no one is permitted to enter the address, including the tenant.

Anyone found entering the address during the closure will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.

PC Phil Hall, Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "I am pleased the full closure order has been granted today and hope this will bring surrounding residents and the wider community some reassurance that we are committed to doing everything in our power to tackle and disrupt this type of behaviour.

"We will continue to work with our partners in the multi-agency Local Focus Hub to make sure the three-month closure is fully enforced.

"For us to continue to tackle ASB and drug supply issues within our communities, we need anyone experiencing any issues with these types of offences to get in touch with us and make a report. You can do this by visiting our website or by calling 101."
