Multi-agency operation deals with potential gas leak in Cumbria
People were evacuated this morning as a precaution in Cleator Moor
A multi-agency operation has been undertaken this morning to respond to a potential gas leak in a residential premises in Cleator Moor.
Police were contacted at 2:41am today (2 December) after a resident at Stafford Court was admitted to hospital yesterday evening feeling unwell. Concerns were raised by hospital staff for potential carbon monoxide poisoning.
A thorough emergency response was undertaken with Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service and Northern Gas Networks carrying out checks for carbon monoxide at all flats at Stafford Court.
There were no levels of carbon monoxide identified following extensive checks being completed. Whilst the checks were carried out, four people were evacuated for a short time as a precaution.
