Today marks 100 days of Mike Williamson at Carlisle United.

His appointment came after Paul Simpson vacated the role of manager following a season that saw the blues relegated back to League 2.

Since then the club made Williamson head coach, a new role tasked solely with on the pitch performances, and supplementing him with a sporting director.

It may not have been the miracle turn around the fans, or the owners, will have wanted, with Carlisle still sitting towards the bottom end of the table however.

Despite this, Williamson still feels his time has been well spent, and changes have happened.

He said: "I would say, across many areas we've improved. The boys detail and understanding, the momentum we've built since the tough early days to the refurbishments in the stands. You can see aesthetically a lot is changing.

"For me, the enjoyment has been trying to maximise the ceiling of the group and seeing them develop on the training field. They are really buying into it and driving it themselves. This is the most enjoyable part of coaching.

"We do still have a big journey to embark upon though.

"We're still relatively early days. Until we can have a good six months, a year, in charge and you can reflect back I think you will then start to see the changes 10 fold.

"Then you can reflect back and see the biggest changes."
