Casualty rescued from Maryport harbour

Emergency crews attended on Sunday evening

A person's been rescued from Maryport Harbour after emergency crews were scrambled on Sunday evening (6th July) just after 5.30pm.

Maryport Rescue were first on the scene and worked with colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service, Maryport Coastguard and and Whitehaven Coastguard.

Cumbria Police and Fire & Rescue also attended and the Great North Air Ambulance also helped out.

A statement from Maryport Rescue says, "This was a very well coordinated incident and showcased the best of a multitude of emergency services working together in sometimes difficult circumstances to provide a good outcome to challenging situations. "
