Man dies in Thursby crash

It happened on the A596 in the early hours of Sunday morning (21st August)

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian died in a collision near Thursby at the weekend.

Police were called at 5:35am yesterday morning (21st August), to a report of a collision on the A596, Bank End near Thursby.

The collision involved a Silver Ford MPV and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a local 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

The road was closed for a number of hours whilst a Forensic Collision Investigation was conducted. It has since been reopened.
