Man dies after A66 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which occurred on the A66 near Brough.

Officers were called just before 5pm on Saturday (13 April) afternoon, following a report of a two vehicle collision involving a grey Honda Civic and a silver Vauxhall Astra.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a 38-year-old man from the Nottinghamshire area, sadly died at the scene.

The A66 was closed between the A6 at Penrith and the A685 at Brough for a number of hours.
