The heat may soon be on at a village hall and vital community resource outside of Kelso.

A planning application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council to install an Air to Air Heat Exchange system at Stichill Village Hall.

A submission with the application states: “This will upgrade the heating system, reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency.

“The proposal involves the installation of 2 x 5 Daikin outdoor units to the rear of the property which will in turn feed 8 x Daikin Wall mounted units inside the hall.

“Stichill Village Hall hosts activities to meet the interests of local residents – exercise, arts, crafts – along with community get-togethers variously attended by older adults and families.

“It is also a base for MP/MSP surgeries, community council meetings and for elections.”
