Cumbrian mum takes her campaign for safer driving to London

The mum of a Cumbrian teenager killed in a horror crash caused by inexperience behind the wheel has taken centre stage at a national road safety conference in London.

Sharron Huddleston's daughter Caitlin was killed when the driver of the car she was a passenger in lost control on the A595 in Millom. Since the 18-year-old's death in 2017 Sharron has been working on Caitlin's Campaign, calling for young drivers to get more experience behind the wheel once they've passed their test.

At the Young Driver Focus event in London last week (Wednesday 25th May) she spoke alongside AA President Edmund King about Caitlin's message, something the pair have been working on to try and help raise awareness of how dangerous rural roads in particular can be.

The leaflet has been distributed to thousands of parents and new drivers via First Car.
