Cleator Moor’s ‘Marathon Man’ starts 100 marathons in 100 days for charity
Gary McKee aims to raise £100,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria
Gary McKee, a 56-year-old from Cleator Moor, has begun an extraordinary challenge to complete 100 marathons in 100 days.
Known locally as the ‘Marathon Man’, Gary is running every single day for 100 days to raise £100,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
His final marathon will coincide with the London Marathon, where he will run alongside his son Beau. The date for the London Marathon is yet to be confirmed and will mark the end of his incredible journey.
This challenge comes shortly after Gary was awarded an MBE by King Charles III in recognition of his previous fundraising achievements. If successful, Gary’s efforts could see his overall fundraising total reach £1 million for the charity.
