Carriageway resurfacing to go ahead in Carlisle next week
The council is informing residents ahead of the work on Edgehill Road
Cumberland Council is informing residents and businesses that there will be carriageway resurfacing works on Edgehill Road in Carlisle.
These works are scheduled to commence on Monday 23 October 2023 for seven days (excluding the weekend of 28 and 29 October) and will conclude on Tuesday 31 October 2023. The resurfacing works will be taking place on Edgehill Road, between Beverley Rise and Silverdale Road.
To enable the council to complete the works safely, during the resurfacing project, there will be a full road closure along Edgehill Road, with a diversion route along Pennine Way, via Arnside Road, and St Elizabeths Close – for full details please visit the One Network website.
The resurfacing works will be carried out under a daytime road closure from approximately 8am to 4pm, daily. The road will be accessible outside of these hours if it is considered safe.
If residents or businesses require access to their property, we kindly request that this is discussed with the Traffic Marshal who will be on site during the works, please be aware that there might be some long delays accessing the properties.
Access will be maintained for emergency services during the works.
Cumberland Council wishes to thank the community for their continued support and patience while improvements are made to the road network and apologises for any inconvenience.
