Campaign to get more defibrillators at Brunton Park
The club's supporters trust need to raise over 5 thousand pounds
Carlisle United's Supporters' Trust are raising funds to place defibrillators on every stand of the club.
Their bid to improve safety at Brunton Park does come at a cost however, with them aiming to raise over £5k in order to the devices in the stands.
The trust itself will be donating the cost of one defib while also covering the cost of the installation of all cabinets. Carlisle United have also agreed to matchfund the first £1k.
Dan MacLennan, Chair CUST said: "The Supporters’ Trust is delighted to be launching our defibrillator appeal.
"Ensuring the entirety of Brunton Park has defibrillator coverage by purchasing four new devices to complement the one currently in-situ is something we can all agree is a worthwhile cause.
"As you’ll read in the words from fellow Blues, these devices can literally be the difference between life and death and having several at strategic points around the ground can only be a good thing.
"Unfortunately there will be medical incidents, and nobody wants to see that, but having tools there to help when one does happen can only be a good thing and make Brunton Park an even safer venue for everyone."
