A man has been jailed today for 18 months after admitting to a string of sexualised behaviours in a public place.

Samuel Ramos, 27, of London Road, Carlisle, pleaded guilty and was sentenced today at Carlisle Crown court for exposure, two counts of outraging public decency and a public order offence.

The offences relate to incidents committed in and around Carlisle City Centre between 20th February and 9th March 2023 where Ramos was seen performing sexual acts in public places.

Ramos was issued with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be entered onto the sexual offenders’ register.

Speaking after the sentencing, PC Rebecca Lynch said: “We take all reports of sexual offences seriously and work hard to do our best for all victims of such crimes.

“I hope that this case encourages victims of such crimes to report incidents such as these to the police. Victims will receive support from sensitive professionals.” Hear all the latest news from across the UK on the hour, every hour, on Greatest Hits Radio on DAB, smartspeaker, at greatesthitsradio.co.uk, and on the Rayo app.
