Man injured after assault in Carlisle

The attack took place on Wednesday afternoon

A man has been questioned by police investigating an assault in Carlisle earlier this week.

A man, aged in his 30s, suffered minor injuries following an altercation with another man on Clifton Street.

The incident occurred shortly before 2:30pm on Wednesday 29th May.

Footage of the incident circulated on social media which led to officers making enquiries.

A man, aged in his 20s, attended Durranhill Police Station voluntarily yesterday and was interviewed. He has since been released, pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses as part of their enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
