Police appeal after Burns Mausoleum in Dumfries damaged
Police are appealing for information about the damage caused to the Burns Mausoleum in Dumfries on Tuesday.
Officers say it happened at St Michael's Church graveyard between 4 and 6pm.
The council says they are assessing the damage "with a view to making appropriate repairs".
The police stated:
"This Mausoleum is a significant part of the history of Robert Burns in Dumfries and given his status as Scotland’s National Bard, any information about this crime would be appreciated."
