Enquiries carried out after man seen with alleged firearm in Carlisle

Enquiries are being carried out in Carlisle town centre after a man was seen with an alleged firearm.
Police were called at around 9.30am to a premises on St. Nicholas Gate Retail Park on London Road.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, he remains in police custody.
Two cordons were put place near the Lanes shopping centre and Crosby Street.
Police say the public may see an increased police presence in the town centre and there is no wider risk to the public.
