Warwickshire Police hold online event for new young drivers

The free online event will explore how parents can play a vital role in shaping safe driving habits for young drivers

Warwickshire Police have announced a new free online event to support the parents and guardians of new young drivers.

Its part of the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership and is open to parents and guardians of young drivers who have recently passed their test ad are about to navigate independent driving.

The free online event will explore how parents and guardians can play a vital role in shaping safe driving habits and reducing risk for young drivers long after they pass their test.

Warwickshire police say its important to understand the risks and challenges that you drivers face.

According to Brake, young drivers are at higher risk due to inexperience, less hazard spotting, and risk-taking, with one in five crashing within a year of passing their test.

The free 60 minute online event will take place on October 1 from 6pm to 7pm but spaces are limited.

Parents and guardians can book a place and receive a link to join the event by visiting From Learner to Licensed: Parental Support for New Drivers.
