Firefighters in Warwickshire have tackled a large fire overnight at an industrial site that engulfed the area.

Crews were called to the Stipers Hill Farm site on Kisses Barn Lane in Polesworth shortly after 8pm on Friday evening (October 18th).

A number of different fire services from around the area - including Nuneaton and Polesworth, as well as Staffordshire - were also drafted in to help with the fire.

Nuneaton Fire Station said that firefighters were faced with "a high intensity fully developed fire" that had taken hold of HGVs, including lorries and tyres.

In total, three different vehicles were saved from the fire, as different crews tried to bring the fire under control.

The Environment Agency was also informed of the fire, as the sky became filled with acrid smoke.

Residents living in the local area were told to close their windows during the course of the fire, as water was drawn from a slew of other sources to provide a continuous water supply.

The fire raged on well into the morning, with the fire crews being able to dampen and smother the fire by mid-morning.

Fire crews are now conducting investigations following the blaze as they try to establish what caused the fire.
