Two Coventry men jailed after houses shot at with a shotgun
The pair have been jailed for a total of over 20 years.
Two men from Coventry have been jailed after firing shots at houses.
Cadel Cumberbatch and Rakesh Jassal were sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on 5 Feb after being found guilty of two firearms discharges and a robbery in the city in 2021.
In the first incident, Cumberbatch, now 23 and Jassal, now 24, were both spotted in a car in Anglian Way on 13 November 2021, where a shotgun was fired at a house.
They were in a pair of Vauxhall Astras which pulled up outside the house and sounded the horn a number of times.
When no one came out of the house, shots were fired, breaking a window.
A day later, the two arrived at a separate address in Station Street East, firing a shotgun at an outbuilding in which cannabis was being stored.
As the pair fled, one of them was seen turning back toward the house and firing a third shot at the front of the address, breaking a living room window.
No one was injured in either of the incidents.
The pair were caught after they carjacked and assaulted a man they knew in Duke Barn Field, leaving him with numerous head injuries.
Shortly after, they were identified and arrested by investigating officers, who were able to build a case against them.
Cumberbatch was sentenced to a total of 13 years in prison, with Jassal given 9 years and 8 months.
