Two men in hospital after stabbing in Rugby

Four teenagers have been arrested following a stabbing in Rugby yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

Police were called at around 3.20pm to a report that two men had been assaulted by a group of males on York Street.

A man in his early 20s sustained suspected stab wounds and an 18-year-old man sustained facial injuries.

Both were taken to hospital by ambulance. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 13-year old boy, two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of GBH. They are currently in police custody.

Investigating officer, Det Sgt Charlotte Naughton of Nuneaton CID, said:

“We’re appealing for any witnesses or information to this incident, or to any suspicious behaviour in town this afternoon.

“A scene guard is currently in place and officers will be in the area this evening as part of enquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 284 of 8 June 2021.”
