Two in hospital after Nuneaton crash

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital, after a collision with a tree in Nuneaton overnight.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 00.42am to a collision, involving a car and a tree at the junction of Weddington Lane and the A5 in Caldecote, Nuneaton. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer the the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Critical Care Car attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival, we found four occupants of the car.

“First, a female passenger who was assessed and had sustained serious injuries. She received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry for further treatment.

"Secondly, a male who was the driver of the car had sustained injuries not believed to be life threatening. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to George Eliot Hospital.

"A further male and female who were passengers in the car were assessed and did not require further treatment. They received self care advice before being discharged at the scene.”
