A large amount of drugs have been seized in Coventry by a Project Guardian taskforce.

Officers from the team stopped a car on Holbrook Lane last night (25th April) and found suspected Class A drugs along with a baseball bat.

Two people in their 30s were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Following the stop and search, the Guardian team visited an address in Earlsdon, where more suspected Class A drugs were seized.

The Eastern Guardian team takes part in regular proactive operations and patrols aimed at taking drugs and weapons off the streets, as well as the criminals who deal in them.

The team has carried out thousands of hours of operational work since it was set up in the East of the force area last year.

As always, they rely on information from the public to build an intelligence picture of where and when crimes are happening and this helps them better plan their patrols and operations.

You can report any suspicious activity via 101 or Live Chat and always call 999 in an emergency.
